Dr Eduan Kotzé is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Informatics at the University of the Free State.
He holds the degrees BSc, BScHons and MSc in Computer Information Systems from the University of the Free State. From 2001 to 2009 he was fulltime employed as a Data Technologist, Senior Data Technologist and then later Principal Data Technologist at the Free State Department of Health. In 2009 he obtained his PhD degree in Computer Information Systems in 2009 and was appointed a senior lecturer in the department in 2010. He has over 15 years technical and managerial experience in Information Technology, specialising in database management systems, data warehousing and business intelligence. His research interests currently focuses on algorithms and methods to process big datasets for sentiment analysis and text mining within a data warehouse environment.
